چکیده

myocardial rupture is contained by pericardial adhesions and thrombus formation. We present a unique case report of LVPA with illustrative and demonstrative images. A 75-year-old male patient was admitted to emergency department with a complaint of temporary verbal aphasia. Seven years earlier, the patient had suffered an inferior myocardial infarction that was treated with left anterior descending artery (LAD)-saphenous vein graft (SVG) and right coronary artery (RCA)-SVG bypass surgery. His symptoms were completely resolved before admission and neurological examination was normal. Cranial multi-detected computed tomography (MDCT) revealed location of ischemic stroke at Anatol J Cardiol 2016; 16: E-00-00 E-page Original Images E-17

Myocardial damage of the entire ventricular region in a patient with acute myocardial infarction

Technetium-99m-pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) has been used, in combination with thallium-201, to estimate the site and extent of myocardial infarcts. We report a case of acute myocardial infarction with severe coronary disease in which the distribution of 99mTc-PYP was extensive. A 78-year-old man presented with dyspnea, and a diagnosis of non-ST-segment elevation acute myocar...

A Giant Unruptured Left Ventricular Pseudoaneurysm Followed by a Silent Myocardial Infarction

Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm is a rare and potentially fatal complication of myocardial infarction. We report a case of a unruptured giant left ventricular pseudoaneurysm in a 72-year-old woman possibly after a silent myocardial infarction. The patient admitted to our clinic for progressive dyspnea and anginal pain for 7 years. Echocardiography showed a giant (7x11 cm sized) pseudoaneurysm w...

Percutaneous Closure of Left Ventricular Pseudoaneurysm

Background—Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm is a rare but serious complication from myocardial infarction and cardiac surgery. Although standard treatment is surgical intervention, percutaneous closure of left ventricular pseudoaneurysm has become an option for high-risk surgical candidates. Experience with percutaneous treatment is limited to a few single case reports. This is the first series ...

Giant Left Ventricular Pseudoaneurysm as a Late Complication of Myocardial Infarction

We present a case of a 63-year-old patient referred to a cardiology consultation due to progressive symptoms of heart failure. He had a history of an inferior ST elevation acute myocardial infarction 6 years ago. Echocardiogram revealed a giant left ventricular aneurysm/pseudoaneurysm involving the inferior and inferolateral left ventricular walls, with a massive mural thrombus. Additional char...
